Just got back from there. Stayed August 10-14. Stayed at site 21. 84 degrees in Cherokee, 53 at the top. Elk in the campgrounds every morning and evening.
Saw lots of turkeys on the way up and down the mountain. Easier to find than I thought it would be. Dogs and kids very much o.k. No bears. Showers and bathrooms...
